Michael Moon was born in 1936 and educated at Kings Bruton and Westminster. After serving in the military as a 2nd Lieutenant in the Royal West African Frontier Force, Michael took on a variety of temporary jobs which, he affirms rounded out his education.
These included a bread slicing machine operator, concrete mixer on a building site, chauffeur, third salesman in Selfridges furniture department (fired), and wall cleaner.
He then settled down to develop successful careers in telecommunications and then management consulting.
A keen globetrotter, Michael, pictured right,has travelled in Africa, Australia, Chile, Dutch Antilles, Emirates, Finland, France, Holland, Indonesia, New Zealand, Saudi Arabia, Spain,Thailand and the USA.
The father of three has been married to Elizabeth since 1959 and the couple are kept busy with eight grandchildren ranging in age from 25 to 3.
A keen sportsman Michael can boast of Rowing at Henley Regatta, playing international rugby for the Gold Coast and he also walked the 500 mile pilgrimage, on the Camino de Santiago, in 30 days at the age of 67.
Of his future plans as a writer Michael says “I am writing more Moon novels with two in progress. I plan to publish several children’s stories, but need an illustrator. I am also writing articles and a blog to support the website.
